To save your energy and to enjoy fantastic views, ride the funicular. It's a pretty steep climb from Old Québec's Basse-Ville (Lower Town) to Haute-Ville (Upper Ville). Fares are the same for leBus as they are for the Métrobus. RTC operates 60 bus routes throughout the greater metropolitan area, but to figure out which buses to rely on for all your tourist needs, check out RTC's handy bus guide for visitors. If you're exploring outside the old city walls, you can rely on leBus, the most expansive bus network within the city's transportation system. Buses stop every 10 to 15 minutes, so visitors won't have to wait long to catch a ride. One-day passes, unlimited weekend passes and five-day passes (Monday through Friday) are also available. Discounted fares are available for children, teens, students and seniors. A one-ride general ticket costs only CA$3 (about $2.40), or CA$3.50 (about $2.75) if you pay in cash. There are six bus routes that offer transport throughout Old Québec, stopping near many of the neighborhood's most popular attractions, such as the Citadel and the Museum of Civilization. When you grow tired of walking or the cold weather has chilled you to the bone, Québec City's RTC (or Réseau de Transport de la Capitale) Métrobus is there to save the day. However, considering the hills in Old Québec, biking is not the best way to get around the city. There are a couple of area companies that rent bikes and offer guided tours. Other routes can be found on the Quebec City Tourism website. The 5 ½-mile Corridor de la Rivière-Saint-Charles trail starts from the Old Port Market, is separated from traffic and loops along both banks of river. If you want to see more of the river or take a look at what the suburbs of Quebec City look like, there are several excellent inline bike trails, most of which start in the Old Port. Just make sure that you're dressed warmly, especially during the winter months, and that you stop frequently: The city's many cozy cafes and quaint shops make excellent venues to thaw. Because many of Québec City's top attractions can be found within Old Québec's ancient walls, you won't need more than your own two feet to make the most of your visit. They're almost certain to be a lot bigger and more multi-layered than previous Modern Combat games. Those additional traversal skills suggest something about Modern Combat Versus's level design, too. Yep, it seems as if you'll be able to scamper across vertical surfaces - as well as survive long drops, as evidenced by the shot of a squad jumping off a roof (or was that a helicopter?). If we were to hazard a guess, I'd say it relates to the wall running skills glimpsed in the video. What is "Velocity Tactical Assault"? We're not certain, but it seems to relate to that futuristic armour we just mentioned. It promises to have a very real impact on the way Modern Combat Versus plays. It's not just how this armour looks that gives us that future feeling. This is evidenced by the funkily armoured protagonists (and antagonist?). The limited gameplay footage and art assets that we've seen point to a near-future setting for Modern Combat Versus. If that's what you played Modern Combats 1 through to 5 for, you're in for a sharp disappointment. Gameloft's language suggests that there will be no traditional single player element to Modern Combat Versus. It's sounds like an obvious point given the multiplayer focus, but it's worth driving home. It'll be fascinating to see how Gameloft balances that with making an accessible mobile game. Given the eSports focus, we're expecting its controls to be extremely tight and skill based. Indeed, the French publisher follows up that statement by claiming that it's "designed to host eSport events".Īs the name suggests, Modern Combat Versus will be a highly competitive, exclusively multiplayer experience. One of the few details Gameloft has confirmed concerning Modern Combat Versus is that it's "focused exclusively on multiplayer gaming". Here's what we're expecting from Modern Combat Versus. It's not a lot to go on, but we think we can piece together some interesting pointers as to the direction the series is going. Those assets include a brief 10 second video of assorted gameplay snippets and some artwork. Gameloft has tantalised us all by announcing Modern Combat Versus, the sixth iteration of its popular militaristic FPS series, with precious little information beyond its title and a few assets. Just finished 2nd playthrough on Hard - used it to experiment with different weapons at the cost of credits. Feel free to flame me in the comments below for my love of the flamethrower ). Just my initial thoughts so far after 2 full playthroughs I'm sure it will change over time. That being said this weapon is definitely a personal favorite and my opinion might change after a few more runs.ĭ tier - Pulse Rifle: If I am doing something wrong please enlighten me no kap but this weapon just did not feel rewarding to use at all and for me personally was outclassed by everything else in the game. Force gun - I actually used this weapon the least tbh but from what I can tell it was amazing at close range literally melting off all the necromorph's skin and making them an easy target for a smaller arm aka PC or RIP.Ĭ tier - Line Gun: Not a bad choice for close range by any means however I just felt like this weapon in particular needed the most power nodes to really shine. Plasma Cutter : I don't really have too much too say here this weapon will always be good in pretty much any scenario and fully upgraded with the DOT will delimb morphs quick.ī tier - Ripper : This I found to be a good alternative to the plasma cutter for those needing a change of pace but don't let that fool you it can hold its own especially when being rushed by multiple enemies and stagger them FOR DAYS. S tier - Contact beam is a literal railgun when fully upgraded and is by far your best bet for taking out any necromorph ASAP.Ī tier - Flamethrower : This is no meme this freaking thing is insane in remake and can help you control packs of necromorphs while being extremely ammo efficient also the alt fire is insane. Here's more or less how I felt after hard/impossible runs. Wonder Woman was the only shining beacon of hope in the horizon, the chance to (finally) do a female superhero movie right. Of the movies in this universe, the only one I've seen was Suicide Squad, which, while decent, wasn't good and squandered its potential. DC has done a poor job at building its own extended universe so, once again, I had no interest in the Justice League movie. DC, in my opinion, made the wrong choice to keep Batman dark and brooding after The Dark Knight Trilogy so, again, I had no real interest in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice outside of maybe seeing Wonder Woman. I find Superman to be interminably boring, so I had no interest (outside of Michael Shannon) in seeing Man of Steel. Though, to be fair, after The Dark Knight Trilogy (THE best superhero trilogy bar none), I haven't kept up with any of DC's efforts to create its own massive universe. You don't know how long I've been waiting to say those words. Rating: PG-13 (Sequences of Violence|Action|Some Suggestive Content)īefore I start with my thoughts on this and everything surrounding, let me just say that, FINALLY, the DC Extended Universe gets one right with this movie. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that's raging in the outside world. Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. When Hela wanted to extend her reign into the universe, Odin forbid it. Together Odin and Hela ruled the Nine Realms. Let that sink in for a second… She is Thor’s older sister and the direct heir to the throne.īefore Thor and Loki were born, Hela was Odin’s executioner. In Thor: Ragnarok, she is the daughter of Odin. In the comics, Hela is the daughter of Loki and the Enchantress. Last chance to skip any spoilers… Like Father, Like Daughter Let’s jump into who she is and why she’s coming for Asgard. So, who is Hela? Why is she hellbent on destroying Asgard? Why does she destroy Thor’s hammer? How can she destroy his hammer? In the comics, she rules Asgard’s underworld - but Thor: Ragnarok flips the script on her character in a HUGE way. Not only is Blanchett an Academy Award winner ( Blue Jasmine, The Aviator) but she gets to play the first female villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When Cate Blanchett was first announced as Hela in Thor: Ragnarok, it seemed as though Marvel had cast a dream villain. Proceed with caution - this post contains spoilers from Thor: Ragnarok. Rescuing certain animals will cause those creatures to randomly spawn as power-ups within the Scrat game. It actually goes on forever or until you die, which is really easy to do. Instead of Sid, this version stars Scrat the Masochistic Squirrel. It might take quite a few visits to get that item you're looking for, to the point that it delays progress in the game.īack in the village, you can play an endless running minigame using tokens that you dig up from snow piles or receive from friends. This gets annoying when the building has an animal or item you need, because some of them have very low and unfair drop rates. You can revisit buildings to try for better prizes, but they take anywhere from ten minutes to several hours to become active again. Simply tap a building and its roulette wheel will spin and then pop out the item. The berry costs get a lot higher as you reach new islands, limiting players' ability to zoom through the game.Įach island also hosts several buildings from which you can earn various prizes, including animals, berries, shells, items, and on rare occasions, acorns (premium currency). Getting rid of stuff consumes berries, which function as energy in Ice Age Adventures. Tap one of these objects and one of your three heroes will clear it out of the way (some take two taps), gaining shells (soft currency) as a reward. When you reach one of these places, you'll find a variety of obstacles to clear, including trees, rocks, ice, enemies, mushrooms, and more.
